Isola di Unije, Isola di Lošinj

Unije is the largest island in the Lošinj archipelago and located northwest of the coast of island Lošinj. The island has been inhabited since ancient times, i.e. when the Romans had their olive groves there. The remains of forts, wells, country houses and even a Roman road testify to life in these times, but also in earlier periods. The northern part of the island is inaccessible and steep, while the southwest side of the island forms a gentle bay in which the only settlement of the island is located. You can find affordable and comfortable accommodation in holiday homes and apartments with sea views. The island is connected to neighbouring Mali Lošinj and the city of Rijeka by a boat line. Since 1996, the island even has a small airport for sports aircrafts. The fertile plains stretch throughout the island, so there is no shortage of organically grown fruits, vegetables and healthy olive oil that goes great with fresh fish the islanders catch every day. The waves of turquoise clear sea lap the shores of the island so swimming is an enjoyment whatever spot you choose. Beach Podkujni with its sandy bottom is particularly picturesque. Lovers of nature, peace and solitude will find a true paradise for a dream vacation on the island of Unije.
