Grohote, island Šolta

Not only the oldest, but also the largest settlement on island Šolta is the village of Grohote that is close to the island’s busiest port, Rogač. The roads that lead from Grohote will take you to all other villages on the island, but also to beautiful hidden coves on the coast. Stone houses, narrow cobbled streets and squares give this village a unique charm and ambience. The diligent hands of Grohote farmers have to this day faithfully preserved the centuries-old tradition of olive growing, winemaking and farming, so do not miss to taste world-famous organic olive oils, olive pâté, sweet and delicious dried figs and premium local wines in Grohote’s family-run farms. Untouched nature harmoniously intertwined with cultivated olive groves, vineyards and fields and the scents of carob, lavender and rosemary will relax all your senses. After a refreshment and walk, choose one of the many nearby bays and enjoy the warmth of the sun with a cooling jump into the crystal clear sea.
