Komiža, island Vis

Lively Komiža is located on the southwest side of island Vis. This small Dalmatian town captivates its visitors with its unique Mediterranean atmosphere and history that is reflected in every stone house, wooden shutter, old boat anchored in the harbor and the hands of fishermen who gather their nets at dawn. The Fishermen's Museum, located in a 16th century fortress, will reveal interesting adventures of the fishermen on their traditional route to Palagruža. Komiža’s fishermen became well-known for their famous boats "falkuša", which could reach up to 12 knots with their elegant hulls and Latin sails.

Take a boat trip to the neighboring island of Biševo with the beautiful Blue Cave and its sandy beaches, visit the amazing Stiniva bay, taste the local sweet and juicy figs and relax with a drop of homemade wine. The magnificent bays of Vis and Komiža are waiting for you…
