Sveti Petar na Moru

Sveti Petar na Moru, Biograd Riviera

The picturesque village of Sv. Petar na Moru, which is situated between Biograd and Zadar, was named after the Church of St. Peter the Apostle from the 18th century. Not far from the church is the stone house of the world-renowned French novelist Emile Zola. The area is particularly charming because of the stunning archipelago that has as many as 16 islets. The most popular is without doubt islet Galešnjak, which is, due to its heart shape, also called the island of love. Many couples from all over the world haven chosen this picturesque island to swear eternal love to their loved ones.

The hinterland of this small village is rich in archaeological and cultural-historical monuments from prehistoric to modern times, as testified by Tustica and the Buta cave at the foot of a hill, as well as by two fortresses from the Iron Age, Pećinska gomila and Vukašinov krug. The aqueduct of Trajan passed also through this area, the remains of which are still visible today. Today, Sveti Petar na Moru is a modern tourist seaside village, where you will find quality and comfortable accommodation in apartments, villas with swimming pools and holiday homes. A beautiful coastline with crystal clear sea and well-maintained beaches, and the pleasant shade of pine trees are the best invitation for lazing in the long summer days. Adventurers will satisfy their appetite when visiting the magical national parks Krka, Kornati, Plitvice and Paklenica, while those looking for fun will be able to enjoy the hustle and bustle of summer evenings in nearby Zadar or Biograd.
