Nature Park Telašćica

Nature Park Telašćica

Nature Park Telašćica, Dugi Otok island, Zadar archipelago

In the heart of the Zadar archipelago and not far from Sali on Dugi Otok is Nature Park Telašćica. The wild and unbridled nature has created the highest cliff in this area. The Grpaščak cliff is almost 161 meters high and has a fantastic vista point that offers a magical panoramic view of the sea. The high reef protects the bay from the impact of the open sea, making this area a paradise for boaters. In the park there is the beautiful salt lake Mir, whose water temperature is 6° C higher than the sea water, while the water level depends on the moon phases. The healing lake water is saltier and warmer in summer than the nearby sea, so it is extremely attractive for swimming. In addition to the lake, there are 25 coves with beaches and six islets in the bay. The most picturesque among the islands is certainly island Katina, while the most unusual islet is Taljurić. The mysterious legends about a buried treasure on the nearby hill Koženjak and the unusual good-natured inhabitants of this area with five horns on their heads fit perfectly into this wonderful and beautiful landscape. Discover the beauty of Telašćica, the customs of life on Dugi Otok and interesting myths and legends related to this fairytale area.
