Kukljica, island Ugljan, Zadar archipelago

The picturesque village Kukljica is located in the southeast of the island of Ugljan and overlooks the island of Pašman. Due to its proximity to the Ždrelac Passage, Kukljica is often referred to as the gate to the National Park Telašćica and National Park Kornati. The old village center is characterized by typical Dalmatian architecture, i.e. by traditional stone houses that are built next to each other thereby creating small squares. The center of the village features the parish Church of St. Paul and a tower bell built in 1741. The votive church of Our Lady of the Snow is situated in the Ždrelac Passage between the islands Ugljan and Pašman. According to legend, snow had been falling in the summer right at this place almost 500 years ago. A unique tourist attraction in Kukljica is the annual Feast of Our Lady of the Snow on August 5th, during which hundreds of boats participate in a traditional procession to the Church of Our Lady of the Snow.
Kukljica offers its guests various possibilities for an ideal vacation: crystal clear sea, beautiful coves and beaches, preserved nature, a variety of accommodation options in private apartments and rooms, and in the holiday resort “Zelena punta”.
