Muline, island Ugljan

The small village of Muline lies at the very end of the island of Ugljan, where dense pine and oak forests are towered over beautiful beaches. The beach Južna luka is especially beautiful because of its fine sand in the sea and shallow waters, making it an ideal place for families with small children. Numerous well-kept hiking and biking trails will take you through centuries-old olive groves, cultivated fields and intoxicating pine forests. In Muline, you can see the remains of the Basilica of St. John, villae rusticae, a mausoleum and an oil mill that produced the famous Liburnian oil from the 1st to the 5th century. Next to the ruins of the old oil mill you can see its faithful replica today. As part of the project "Every Place has its Bench", artist Božica Kliman gave Muline a mosaic bench called "Sunset bench". Its name derives from the location of the bench as it offers a view of the most beautiful sunset on the island. An interesting motif on the bench is also donkey Sivko, which at the time of the creation of the bench, was the only living donkey on the whole island. Namely, the donkey is a symbol of life in Dalmatia, a helper without which no Dalmatian farmer could even imagine his life. Do not miss to discover other interesting motifs on the mosaic benches in the neighboring hamlets that speak in a unique way about the history, culture and life of the island of Ugljan. Look for accommodation in one of the modern apartments, villas and holiday homes and set out to discover the beautiful island of Ugljan.
