Island Ošljak, Zadar archipelago

Ošljak is another small, but equally beautiful island in the Zadar archipelago. It is half a nautical mile away from Preko on the island of Ugljan and connected to the city of Zadar by a boat line. Ošljak is a unique example of typical Mediterranean architecture with a lovely fishing port, stone houses and the beautiful Church of St. Mary from the 6th century. This oasis of unspoiled nature, fresh air and clear sea was declared a Forest Park in 1985. A well-maintained hiking trail passes by the remains of a 16th-century windmill and a lighthouse. If you decide to spend your vacation on this magical island, you will rediscover the nature you forgot in your busy everyday life: long walks, the fragrances of Dalmatian plants, the sounds of the sea lapping against the rocks, the summer song of crickets and the sound of the mistral in your hair. On Ošljak you will experience a return to nature in its original form.
