Pirovac, Šibenik riviera

At the deep end of the Pirovac Bay lies Pirovac, a former medieval settlement and a stronghold of Croatian nobility, and even once a fortress of the Knights Templar. The old town features medieval walls and the "Village Gate", one of the most interesting symbols of Pirovac. Many valuable cultural and historical monuments testify to the town’s rich history: the defensive walls from 1505, the Church of St. George from 1506, a Gothic sarcophagus with a relief from 1447 in the chapel of the Vrančić-Draganić family and the remains of a Franciscan monastery from 1511 on the island of Sustipanc, where remains of the Roman civilization were discovered. Next to the beautiful examples of authentic Dalmatian houses, there are also many modern holiday villas and houses that offer apartments and rooms for your perfect vacation.

The Pirovac region is a true oasis of natural beauty. In the southern part of the Pirovac Bay, there is the Makirina beach with therapeutic mud, whose healing properties are already widely known and appreciated. Beaches and bays with crystal clear sea line the entire Pirovac Bay. In front of Pirovac lies the small island "Sustipanc" with the historical name "Mojster", which is often also called the "Island of Love" by young people. In the immediate vicinity of Pirovac are Croatia’s most beautiful national parks, where visitors can enjoy long walks along the magical river Krka, ride a bike on the trails around Lake Vrana or go on a sea adventure and explore the beauties of pebble beaches and the crystal clear sea in the Kornati National Park.
