Vodice, Šibenik riviera

Close to Šibenik is a true gem in Croatia’s tourist offer and its name is Vodice. It is a small town with a lovely historic center that was fortified with a defensive wall and three towers against Ottoman attacks in the 15th century. The stone houses in the old part of the town are so close that they seem as almost leaning against each other, while the alleys are so narrow that two men can scarcely pass by. The Čorić tower, which was built in 1646 as a summer house by the wealthy family Fondra from Šibenik, is located in the center and well-preserved. The present-day town developed around the old town over the centuries, where there are now many beautiful houses, villas and apartments that offer modern and comfortable accommodation. The surroundings of Vodice abound in drinking water that was transported by boat to the neighboring towns and islands, hence giving Vodice its present name. The beautiful pebble beaches Vićevica, Mali dvor, Male Vrulje and Plava plaža are ideal for lazing in the sun. The proximity of the amazing Krka National Park and the Kornati National Park, as well as the most popular tourist centers Zadar, Šibenik, Trogir and Split that are not far away round off the tourist offer of Vodice. The town is equally attractive in the evenings as it made itself a name as a destination with an entertaining nightlife. Do not miss to visit it in the summer evenings when everything is teeming with young people and experience the vibrant and perky atmosphere of the promenades, alleys and streets in Vodice.
