South of Vinkovci, right on the bank of the river Sava is Županja, a town which really nourishes traditional customs about all is the popular project "Cesta zlatne niti" -  a touristic connection of a few places in the county in a context which visitors can see and directly try a few of the rich traditions of cultural heritage such as spinning wool, preparing down for pillows, gold embroidery, lacemaking, but also enjoy horse riding, carriage-riding, and taste the famous local sweet specialities. In Županja visit the border lodge from the beginning of the 19th century, today's Stjepan Gruber local history museum, the only such preserved example of the military architecture in Croatia, wander along the coast of the Sava or participate in a few of the large number of events such as the Šokac Jamboree in February or Our daily bread – harvests in the past in the month of July. The whole of Srijem is criss-crossed with bicycle tracks and footpaths, and here there are a large number of businesses where you can eat like you have never done in your life. These song verses say it all about Srijem : "Its beautiful that spruce Srijem".
