Welcome to the City of Vrsar – ideal vacation spot!

Vrsar is a picturesque town on the shore and an ideal vacation spot. It is surrounded by greenery and excellent accommodation facilities, and is famous in Europe as a nudist centre. In front of Vrsar is an archipelago of some 15 islands, and near it is the Lim bay, popular excursion destination. The famous Venetian lover Giacomo Casanova came to Vrsar twice, and mentioned the town in his memoir.

By chance or not, Vrsar, more specifically the Island of Koversada, is now one of the most popular nudist destinations in Europe. Aside from interesting landmarks, you can also enjoy the stone architecture of the old town that developed around the citadel, the summer residence of Poreč bishops, in the Early Middle Ages. The main town gates are located next to St Fosca's Church, and served for centuries as entrance into a fortified town, which expanded outside the town walls only in the 19th century. The stone stab above the gates contains a relief of the Venetian lion with a closed book, a sign that Venice was at war when the relief was made. On the hill is the parish Church of St Martin with a bell tower, and nearby is St Antony's Church. In Valkanela, several kilometers north of Vrsar is Đamonja Sculpture Park located. Monumental modern sculptures made out of steel, iron, bronze, aluminium and marble are on display in this beautiful natural environment.
