Martinšćica, island Cres

The romantic village Martinšćica is located on the west coast of island Cres. The area of Martinšćica has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the remains of ancient villas in nearby bays, but also by the prehistoric forts and hillforts and the ruins of several small medieval churches on the slopes of the hills above the village. The centre of the village is dominated by the Church of St. Martin from the 16th century that is surrounded by neatly arranged rows of family houses. The friendly hosts of Martinšćica greet their guests with warm hospitality in comfortable apartments and holiday homes by the sea. Another highlight of Martinišćica is certainly the local cuisine in restaurants and taverns whose table is rich in fresh fish, homemade sheep cheeses and cottage cheese, premium olive oil and organically grown vegetables. Beautiful beaches and secluded coves near the village are truly a paradise for relaxation and a perfect summer vacation.
