Dobrinj, Island Krk

Amidst lush vegetation and located on a 200m high hill lies the ancient village Dobrinj. The parish Church of St. Stephen from the 12th century dominates the village, whose stone houses and narrow streets harmoniously surround it. Dobrinj is one of the most important Glagolitic centres on the island, as evidenced by numerous Glagolitic inscriptions that are scattered throughout the settlement. Particularly valuable exhibits are kept in the Sacral Museum in Dobrinj, while the Ethnographic Museum provides insight into the way of life in this area. In the vicinity of Dobrinj is beach Meline that is known for its healing mud. Lovers of sandy beaches can enjoy the nearby bay of Sv. Marek in Riski. Near Dobrinj is also the interesting cave Biserujka where, according to legend, local pirates hid their treasure. At the foot of the cave is the beautiful bay of Slivanjska.
