Island Susak, island Lošinj

Susak is a small island located west of island Lošinj and connected to Mali Lošinj and the city of Rijeka by boat lines. It was formed in ancient times in a very interesting way, namely by the deposition of sand on the limestone plate. The island is characteristic for having almost no tall vegetation, but only reeds as the predominant plant species, which is not very common for Mediterranean islands. Beautiful sandy coves in the embrace of unspoilt nature are a paradise for relaxation and peace. There are no cars on the island and the population, due to partially being isolated, has retained a very special dialect and its traditional way of life. The locals are especially proud of their folk costumes, which the brides of the island wore on their wedding days. The centre of the village is adorned by the Church of St. Nicholas that was built by the Bishop of Osor. The local houses that surround the church harmoniously line the streets and offer affordable and comfortable accommodation. Visit Susak and spend an unforgettable vacation in an unspoilt oasis of nature on this small Adriatic island. If you like small, intimate places where you already know all the locals and tourists on the second day of your stay, then Susak is the right place for you.
