Brseč, Opatija Riviera

Located high on a cliff above the blue sea lies the ancient village Brseč. For centuries, its medieval spirit has been guarded by the walls, the closely built rows of houses with their romantic balconies and stone staircases, but also by the narrow streets and squares. The best way to find out more about the rich heritage of Bršec, we recommend peeking inside the many churches here: the parish Church of St. George, the Church of the Holy Cross, the Church of St. Magdalene and the Church of St. Stephen at the local cemetery. The cliff near the Church of St. Magdalene is a great spot to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the islands in the Kvarner Bay and the beautiful Opatija Riviera, but also serves as a stage during the Brseč Blues Festival.

Look for accommodation in this picturesque place in apartments and holiday homes that have been harmoniously incorporated into the romantic surroundings of Brseč. Visit the nearby beaches of Klančac, Uboka and Jelenšćica that offer peace and privacy with crystal clear sea. Nature enthusiasts can set off on the many educational trails in the nearby Učka Nature Park and discover along the way some charming villages and hamlets that still nurture a traditional way of life in harmony with nature. The national parks Risnjak, Brijuni and Plitvice are in easy reach from Brseč, but also the major tourist centres in the region, such as Rijeka, Lovran, Opatija and Rovinj.
