Ičići - Opatija Riviera

Another pearl that lies along the magical Opatija Riviera is the small town of Ičići, which, despite its size, was a significant port already in the Middle Ages. Later on it was recognized by European nobility for its beautiful coast and beach, who transformed this small fishing village into a popular summer resort and gathering place for the aristocracy and the European elite. The Lungomare promenade, which passes through Ičići, is adorned with luxurious villas, of which Villa Münz from 1903 in the Art Nouveau style particularly stands out. The Ičići beach, located in the centre, has been awarded the Blue Flag, an international symbol of high-quality service and cleanliness of the sea, for many years.

Ičići is also a famous nautical centre in this part of the Adriatic that features a well-equipped marina. There is a wide range of accommodation in Ičići, from luxurious villas with swimming pools to hotels, holiday homes and modern apartments. Another interesting feature are the carefully tended gardens in front of almost every house that resemble small private parks. Apart from the many water sports activities, fans of active holidays can also enjoy cycling, hiking and mountaineering. The nearby Nature Park Učka offers numerous educational trails that lead to clearings with magnificent panoramic views and small family-run farms, where you can taste the indigenous specialties of this area. Those with courage and in search of adrenaline can also try kite flying or paragliding from several take-off ramps that are set up on the slopes of mount Učka. While in the area, we also recommend visits to the medieval towns of Mošćenice and Kastav near Ičići or day trips to the National Parks Risnjak, Brijuni and Plitvice, where their hidden beauties are waiting to be discovered by you. Numerous clubs and bars in Opatija and Rijeka offer an entertaining nightlife. Get to know the hospitality of Ičići and enjoy its rich tourist offer.
