The tour starts in Stari Grad, in front of the Tourist Board office, at 4:00 PM (or 4:30 PM in case of high temperatures). This is followed by a short walking tour of Stari Grad, with a focus on the archaeological site Pharos (approx. 30 minutes).
We then continue the hike towards the first stop – Likor’s House, a country villa dating back to the early 19th century. The walk from Stari Grad to Likor’s House takes around 1 hour (maximum).
From Likor’s House, it is another 30-minute walk to the Illyrian hill fort on top of Budinjac Hill (274 m above sea level), dating back to around 1000 BC. From the hill fort, there are breathtaking panoramic views of the Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as views of Mount Biokovo, the island of Brač, and Stari Grad seen from a bird’s-eye perspective. We reach the summit at the perfect time to enjoy a truly unique sunset.
After a short stay at the hill fort, we descend to the village of Dol (approx. 30 minutes), where we visit a local family farm (OPG) and enjoy a refreshing glass of homemade wine. After a short break, there is a 45-minute walk back to Stari Grad, or an optional taxi transfer available at an additional cost.
The entire route runs through authentic Mediterranean vegetation, vineyards, and olive groves. Most of the trail follows old, forgotten paths rather than paved roads, adding to the authenticity of the experience.
⏱ Total hiking duration: approx. 4.5 hours
